Relay for Multidimensional Work
Modern work requires us to be more than one thing.
You might spend the morning as a Founder, the afternoon as a Content Creator, and the evening working on a personal project. Different identities, different responsibilities, sometimes the same bigger picture.
But here's the thing: work doesn't stay inside one identity.
The video you create as a Content Creator becomes a post for Instagram. That post becomes a conversation on LinkedIn. An idea from your Founder identity becomes the next project for your creative self.
One action creates the next. Yet most productivity tools treat them as separate tasks.
You finish something, tick the checkbox, and move on. When that work needs to continue under another identity, you're left copying titles, transferring links, recreating context, and trying to remember where everything started.
The problem isn't just having too much to do. It's that our work is connected, but our tools treat it as disconnected.
Meet Relay
Relay lets you pass work from one identity to another without starting from scratch.
When an action is complete, you can relay it to the identities that need to take the work forward. Choose one or more destinations, decide when the next action should happen, and keep the work moving.
Imagine you've just finished filming a video.
- Content Creator finishes the shoot.
- Instagram picks up the work to prepare the post.
- LinkedIn picks it up to turn the idea into a discussion.
One completed action creates multiple next steps.
Instead of recreating tasks and moving information around manually, Relay helps you carry the relevant context forward while keeping each new action focused on what needs to happen next.
How to relay
- Complete an action and choose Relay.
- Pick one or more identities to hand the work to.
- Pick the day each new action should land.
A linked action appears in each recipient identity's block. It shows a quiet Relayed from link back to where it started, and the original action shows a baton marker for each handoff. Click a baton, in either direction, to jump to the linked action.
Delete or archive one relayed action and the other branches stay intact.
Work Should Stay Connected
Follow the thread
Work has a history. When an action is relayed, its connection to the original work helps you trace where it came from and understand how it fits into the bigger picture.
Let work branch out
Work rarely follows a perfectly straight line. Something you finish today might lead to one next step or several. And next week, you might discover another way to build on it.
Relay lets you create additional handoffs as your plans evolve, without disturbing earlier ones.
Keep your identities in motion
Your identities aren't isolated compartments. They're different dimensions of your life, often contributing to the same goals in different ways.
Relay helps them work together without forcing you to manage every handoff manually.
The Point
Modern work is multidimensional. It moves between roles, responsibilities, ideas, and ambitions.
Your system should account for that.
Relay connects what you've finished to what comes next, across the different identities that make up your week.
